Honeymoon Bliss

Greetings to our Family & Friends,

We have returned from our honeymoon just a few weeks ago and are in the process of getting the house in order with many projects going on at the same time. We have returned back to work, enjoying the time we do have together, and continuing to give off the newly wed glow.

The honeymoon was a surprise to me and I actually did not find out where until a few hours into the car trip. It was beautifully planned by Andrew, with the kindness and generosity of his friends. It was what this worn out bride needed- the water, quiet, and a couch. We spent the first few days at Cape Cod, MA at a friend’s beach house. It was literally a block or so away from the water. We could see the water from our bedroom window. (As I type this, I’m magically taken back to that wonderful time!) Andrew then took us on a ferry to Martha’s Vineyard, and I can’t adequately express the beauty of it. My only response was gasping for air at every turn at another beautiful scene. Andrew and I witnessed the most beautiful sunset we’ve both had ever seen. It was a moment that I tried to store up in my heart, knowing all other sunsets will fall in comparison. Finally, Andrew drove us to Boston, a city that I’ve always been fascinated by, and enjoyed the weekend trip despite getting sick.

One special moment during our honeymoon was our first family worship time. I led worship and Andrew led the devotional. It was on Proverbs 30:7-9.

“Two things I ask of you, O Lord; do not refuse me before I die: Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the Lord?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.”

It was a special time where we shared our hearts of how we need to fully surrender to the Lord and shared hopes of our children’s future, their love and devotion to the Lord.

It meant the world to me that Andrew put so much time and energy in his planning. I knew he would exceed any of my expectations as he always does. It’s funny because typically, I’m not a fan of surprises. I like to know all of the details so I can plan accordingly, but Andrew has shown me how wonderful they can be if I trust him!
